We all know the magic of dance, and whether you are an experienced ballerina or just enjoy a boogie every Friday night, the adrenaline rush of dancing to our favourite song is a feeling we never want to forget.
So why would this be any different for someone in their old age or one who has dementia? Who knows, they may have been the life and soul of the party and owning the dance floor back in their day.
Now I’m not saying to take your Gran out clubbing with you, but there are plenty of ways to get your loved one out dancing and enjoying themselves. Take a read of these dance driven organisations and see if any would benefit your loved one.
The joy and freedom of dance

Dancewise allows dance teachers to go into residential care homes to run the classes, with the help of care staff, as well as offering them training in facilitating the dance sessions.
