As I am writing this post, I am sitting in my room thinking about all the hobbies I gave up on as a child, dancing, singing, even poetry club. I’m wondering what would of happened if I didn’t give up those after school actives and perused them into something more than just a chore my mum took me to every Wednesday afternoon.
However now my mind is wondering into what hobbies I could take up right now, instead of spending my free time Internet shopping or watching Netflix. No one is forcing me to endure an hour of ballet every week or having to work out what rhymes with “poetry club is fun”. So instead I could start learning a language? Or maybe start writing a book? Or even train as an Olympic gymnast!?… Okay maybe that one is a little far fetched.
The point is that recently I have felt a little uninspired as my create outlet seems to be settling deeper and deeper into my body, and despite it being something I “can’t loose”, it’s starting to feel that way. In a busy world there are many things that can occupy the hours in a day, but maybe it’s time to take back the control and invest that time into doing something you love.
Now I’m sure there is something you have always wished you could do, and whether that’s teaching yourself to play guitar or being a pro at rock climbing, life is too short to let these ambitions slip away.
So I hope this inspirational blog post has given you the motivation to get going.
At the end of the day, if you never try, you never know… So I’ll see you in 2020, on the Olympic Gymnast Mat.
