Now although Dementia Awareness Week is soon coming to an end, we at Nudgu have a task we would like to propose to you just before it finishes.
The whole point of this week is to raise awareness about dementia and to help it become something we can talk about openly and provide help for people who need it. Sadly we are not at a point where everyone knows exactly what dementia is and how to look out for it in yourself or family members.
However our Nudgu Challenge this week is for you to start a conversation about dementia to at least one person.
This can be to a friend who is going through a tough time after a relative was diagnosed with dementia.
Or talking to an elderly parent about dementia and asking if they have experienced any of these effects recently.
Then Maybe having that long awaited talk with your children about their granddads dementia, which you have been struggling to tell them for a while.
Whoever it is you talk to, let’s spread the word of dementia and break the stigma on feeling uncomfortable to talk about it, as we all need to be aware of the impact it has on our lives.
47.5 million people live with dementia in the world with 7.7 million new cases each year! However early diagnosis improves the life of people with dementia and their families, so creating awareness is the first step in helping this.
Can you join our Nudgu Challenge?
Let us know who you spoke to this week on helping to raise awareness for dementia.
