Waking up to the news of what happened in Manchester last night was heartbreaking, and our prayers go out to everyone who was involved.
When such terror hits a nation, the feeling of sadness, anger and empathy is what unites us, as we all know the affect it has on each and every person.
However, through these dark times there is always a shred of light, which restores our faith in humanity and shows that there is far more good in the world than bad.
After the attack at Westminster Bridge, a number of service information boards on the underground had heart warming quotes written to show love and support for those involved. Yet one quote that truly stood out and I think applies greatly to the Manchester Attack is this…
“When I was a boy & would see scary things in the news, my Mother would say to me… “Look for the helpers, you will always find people who are helping”
This quote could not be more relevant to the hundreds of people who rushed to help those in need last night, from Police to doctor to free Taxi’s and the hotels/ family’s who gave people a place to stay. Through all the chaos and horror, people were going above and beyond to help and we should remember this.
In a time of crisis when others try to make us weak, we pull together and become out strongest.
Our hearts go out to everyone involved.
If your child is affected by hearing about the attack and is feeling scared and worried, here are some sites that may help with these feelings.
