We all have unconditional love for our family, but sometimes this love can be pushed to the limit through the well-known, red-faced feeling of embarrassment. Now its clear our Dads are no stranger to this feeling, so in the spirit of Fathers day, lets talk about the five most embarrassing things dads have got down to an absolute art.
Dad Dancing –
Now whether it’s at your school disco or your Wedding, Dads will find any excuse to bust out that painfully awkward dance move and repeat it again and again. For me this is normally followed by “ what’s wrong? You don’t like my dancing hey?” With an evil smirk…
Dad Jokes –
Now I know not all Dads are the same, and some may crack out a good one liner, but too often Dads repeat the same unoriginal, unfunny joke any time a new person comes into the house. This is fine, until you are in a room full of people your age that just do not understand dad humour… It’s a recipe for red faced, awkward laugh embarrassment.
“Noises” in Public –
There are an array of noises the human body can make, some of them are far more unpleasant than others. But Dads seem to have a radar of when the most inappropriate time would be to let one of those noises “slip” out… I say no more.
Shopping with Dads-
Shopping with your Dad is almost like role reversal, I can’t count the amount of times I’ve had to walk quickly down the aisle to get away from that skipping, singing, over excited child… oh wait no that’s my Dad.
Nickname calling Dad-
We love it when our Dad calls us by our nickname but at the age of 14, when you are trying to impress your cool new friends, you can’t think of anything worse. No matter how much of an angry/ trying to be subtle glare you give your Dad, he will still call you it no matter who you are with.
Yet despite all these embarrassing moments, we secretly love our dads for them, and wouldn’t change it for the world.
