It’s very easy to get swallowed down in all the negativity of Dementia , and feel like you will never see your loved one as happy as they once were. But today I’m going to change that mindset and show you dementia should not deprive you of all happiness.
A former boat engineer with dementia has been given the chance he always dreamed of, which was to return to the seas!
Ken Reece was given the chance to drive a boat once again whilst he sailed across the water, remembering his time as a boat engineer. This is all thanks to the help of a care home in Jersey who try to grant the wishes of those they care for!
The look of pure happiness on Ken’s face was priceless and you can see just how much being back in the water meant to him.

I hope I have inspired you to continue living your life in spite of the impact dementia has upon it. We all have our dreams and dementia should not take these away from us. If your dream is feasible enough, do it, your life belongs to you, and not dementia.
